Hunting stays at Gilgooma are limited and subject to review.

All applications are individually assessed to ensure alignment with our safety protocols, property values and operational capacity.

Located between Coonamble and Pilliga in North West NSW, with a total potential hunting area of 11,500 acres, possible game include pigs, foxes, cats, rabbits and hares.

Hunting booking process

Read and understand the terms and conditions (below). Contact us directly to discuss available dates, accommodation options and any questions not covered by the terms and conditions.

Each person in your group will need to complete an application form with all required information.

There are three different accommodation options (minimum booking $500). Accommodation charges are the same for hunters and non-hunters.

  • camping (entirely self sufficient, leave no trace) = $110 per person per night.

  • shed (access to weatherproof shed with power and water, bathrooms and camp kitchen , BYO bedding) = $165 per person per night.

  • cabins (access to three bedrooms with linen supplied on one queen, one double and two king single beds, bathroom block and camp kitchen) = $220 per person per night.

Terms & Conditions

By submitting a hunting application and attending a booking, you acknowledge and agree to these Hunting Terms and Conditions for that booking and for any future hunting booking you make at Gilgooma, unless Gilgooma notifies you of updated terms, in which case the updated terms apply to bookings made after that notice. You confirm you will hold current membership and insurance as required by these terms for the duration of any such booking, and will provide evidence on request.

1. Payment

1.1 Guests must submit an application, including all requested information and documentation, before a hunting booking can proceed.

1.2 On approval, a tax invoice for a $500 deposit is issued and must be paid in full to confirm the booking.

1.3 The deposit is non-refundable, but may be transferred to another date at the Owner's discretion.

1.4 A tax invoice for the balance of the booking fee is issued and must be paid in full 30 days before the booking date.

2. Cancellation

2.1 Gilgooma reserves the right to postpone or cancel a booking at any time, and to decline a booking, without providing a reason.

3. Shooters and hunters

3.1 Each person in the group must provide the required documentation.

3.2 Every hunter (a person who is there to hunt) must be a current member of the Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia (SSAA) or the Australian Pig Doggers and Hunters Association (APDHA), and must provide evidence of membership. Membership must benefit from current public liability insurance cover of at least $20 million.

3.3 Anyone who will discharge a firearm on the property must also hold a current, valid NSW firearms licence, have no current or pending firearms prohibition orders, and have never been charged with a firearms or violent offence. Alcohol and firearms are strictly incompatible on this property.

3.4 Hunters must also provide a copy of a valid driver's licence, passport, or other government-issued photo ID.

4. Non-shooters

4.1 Children and non-hunters are permitted as part of a hunting group, but are never permitted to handle a weapon under any circumstances. The hunting rate and these Terms and Conditions apply to children and non-hunters as part of a hunting group.

4.2 Non-shooters must provide a copy of a valid driver's licence, passport, or other government-issued photo ID.

5. Dogs

5.1 Dogs are only permitted for members of the Australian Pig Doggers and Hunters Association (APDHA) or an approved dog hunting club, who must provide evidence of membership.

5.2 Dogs must be controlled at all times, tracking equipment is mandatory, and dogs are not permitted in the accommodation.

6. Liability

6.1 Guests are personally liable for the full cost of repairs, or loss of income, if any person in the group causes damage to the property or belongings of the property owner.

7. Guest conduct

7.1 Guests will be provided with directions and paddock maps, and must not leave the paddocks they have permission to hunt. Property boundaries must be strictly observed, and neighbouring properties must not be accessed. All gates must be left as found.

7.2 Guests must never:
a) touch or move any equipment, machinery or livestock
b) discharge a firearm in the vicinity of, or towards, stock, houses or other buildings
c) drive through, into or over a planted crop or cultivated land
d) light a fire without express permission, or leave a fire unattended
e) discard animal remains in or near waterways, or near houses or accommodation

7.3 Guests must inform management immediately of any accidental damage, or any other issue or challenge.

7.4 All rubbish must be collected and removed by guests camping, and placed in the areas indicated by signage by guests in accommodation.

7.5 Guests operate any vehicle (cars, utes, 4WDs, motorbikes, buggies, quad bikes, side-by-sides, and anything else with wheels) on the property at their own risk, and must meet all legislative and safety requirements.

7.6 Vehicle access may be restricted to campsites only if there has been excessive rainfall, at the Owner's discretion, in the interests of safety and to protect the property's road infrastructure.

7.7 All cartridges must be collected and disposed of by guests.

8. Other terms

8.1 There will never be more than one hunting booking at Gilgooma at any one time.

8.2 Gilgooma is a working farm, and feral pests affect our operations. Owners may hunt, trap or bait pests before or during a hunting booking, and this will be clearly communicated to guests.

8.3 Management is available before and during bookings to provide information about seasonal conditions and observed game, and only a limited number of bookings are accepted to keep each hunting experience genuine.

8.4 Gilgooma cannot guarantee the availability of game, and is not responsible for prevailing weather conditions. If weather requires Gilgooma to cancel a booking, guests will be offered a new booking at the first available date.
